My best friend was generous enough to bring her SLR camera (and her photography skills) with her this weekend when she journeyed to Alabama. Between stuffing our faces with Mexican food while drinking margaritas, catching up with old friends, and shopping for bridesmaid dresses, we managed to cull out some time to take pictures.
Christine found Caty to be an excellent subject and captured some great shots of her. She also took some great pictures of my garden which I’ll generously share with you tomorrow.
Caty isn’t the best poser. When you call her or make kissy noises to get her to turn around, she does turn around, but she walks your way. She’s under the assumption that if you call her, you are planning on giving her something or scratching her belly.
This is one of Caty’s favorite spots in the house. I keep the blinds raised a little so she can look out and see the world. Christine captured this shot at just the right time. Caty had spotted something was ready to attack. You know, in case it came inside.
This chair looks out into the back yard and Caty sits here and sulks whenever I’m outside. I would let Caty out, but the way she sprints away from the house as if her tail is on fire any chance she gets, I leave her inside. Yes, she pouts (and occasionally makes her displeasure known loudly), but I would rather this than her get hit by a car. Or bring in some sort of animal.
This is my favorite of the group. You can see how desperate she is to join us outside. I’m sure she was making pitiful meows at us too.
Gasp! A very rare picture of me. I prefer to be behind the camera, but Christine caught me unaware (although not Caty!).
Don’t I have the prettiest kitty? Okay, I’m slightly biased I know. 🙂

she is precious! glad you liked the pictures 🙂
I can’t wait to get the others up tomorrow. Having a better camera really does make a difference!
Miss you already!
Caty is a gorgeous cat! I love the picture of her sauntering toward the camera. And your hair is awesome.
Thanks on both accounts. However, both are annoying sometimes. But cats and hair are annoying in very different ways. 🙂
She is super cute!
I swear Clarabelle was an outdoor cat in her previous home. She always runs to the door (and not in an I’m greeting you sort of way!) and she cries and CRIES when we’re outside and we aren’t. Poor kitty. But I agree, it’s safer for them inside! Did the humane society make you promise that she will stay inside? Purrfect Pals (where Clarabelle came from) does.
I think Caty must have been an outdoor cat as well. The way she cries to go outside (all day!) is very sad, but I’m just so afraid she’ll run away or get hurt.
No the humane society didn’t make me sign anything about her staying inside, just about not declawing. But she is spayed and micro-chipped, so I could find her if she did run away.
Caty is so cute!! And I love that picture of her with her head and little footie in the blinds.
I do too! I think it’s a great shot!
I have the cutest grandcat:)
