Food Waste Friday

in Food Waste Friday

This week could have gone better.

I really intended for this to be another no waste week.  I didn’t cook much on purpose, and planned on taking leftovers for lunch everyday, but life, as it so often does, got in the way.

No, wait.  That’s not right.  Life didn’t get in the way.  My desire to eat out at lunch got in the way. 🙂  What can I say?  Sometimes you just really need to escape work for a little while.

I didn’t get a picture but this week I threw out some leftover casserole my mom had given me and some cheese.  I don’t feel so bad about the casserole because I didn’t cook or buy the ingredients, but I still hate to waste food.

The cheese, though, was difficult for me to throw out.  I went through a phase a few months ago where I was enjoying the occasionaly (read: almost every night) snack of bread and some good cheese.  I had bought a round of brie, which I love, but only ate about half of it before I grew tired of it.  Brie lasts a good while, but it had a strange smell to it when I checked on it this week, so I had to throw it out.

At least I’m leaving behind a nice clean fridge while I go to ALA.  Better luck next week.

What did you waste this week?

I wasted food and time this week. Food-I don’t always like what I cook. I mean it sounds great till I get it made and then for some strange reason I can’t eat it! I also waited time. My family (mom, dad and sis) will coming to stay with me and my hubby for a couple of weeks in July and I need to start my spring cleaning for them coming. Needless to say I’ve been procrastinating and playing around. 🙂 I will do better next week It’s just hard to say no to facebook, twitter and pinterst. LOL 🙂 Have a great week!

Nooooo! Not Brie!

Oh golly.

On the other hand, I can completely identify for the true NEED to leave work for food. Sometimes you just have to.

But mostly I’m the weirdo that eats leftovers at her desk. Probably like most of us at FWF.

I’m usually eating leftovers at my desk too, because it makes for such a great lunch, but this was just one of those weeks.
