This week we wasted…
Nothing again! Another no waste week at our house, mostly thanks to my dad and his amazing leftover-eating prowess.
Since I don’t have any waste this week, I’m sharing another tip to preventing food waste. Today’s tip is shop your pantry. Well, actually, shop your pantry, fridge, and freezer every week before setting your menu and grocery list. Have a half empty jar of tomato sauce? Look for recipes that call for a small amount of tomato sauce. Have a little chicken leftover, but not enough to make a meal out of it? Incorporate it into a casserole. If you shop your own kitchen first, you should be able to catch any foods that are going bad and use them up before they end up in the trash.
Do you shop your kitchen before making your grocery list? What’s your favorite recipe to use up extra ingredients?

Good tip!
That is an excellent tip that I'll have to keep in mind.
