Menu Plan Monday

in Menu Plan Monday, my cat is better than your cat

How was your weekend?  Do anything fun?  I spent my weekend hanging out with friends and my family, and cleaning.  I feel like I clean my house all the time, but it never seems to be clean enough.  I turn around and there’s something else to clean.  I am perplexed at how one person and one cat can mess up a house.

Speaking of the cat…I’m slowly trying to introduce Caty to a harness so she can not only enjoy being outside without getting hit by a car, but also so that she can potentially become an animal-assisted therapy cat.  Anyone who knows Caty knows how sweet and friendly she is, so I thought that trying to volunteer with our local animal therapy organization might be a great thing.  Part of getting qualified is being leash or harness trained, so we’re gradually getting used to it.  She hates it of course, and refuses to walk (she does this low, almost belly crawl run/crouch thing), but maybe once I get her into a real harness she’ll learn to work with it?  Who knows.  Anyway, we’re trying.  I’ll keep you posted on the details.

Crouching in the garden tolerating the harness - for the moment.

My menu for the week:

Sunday: Mushroom-cheddar quiche, sauteed zucchini

Monday: Out with friends

Tuesday: Tilapia with caper-parsely sauce, roasted potatoes

Wednesday: Pizza, don’t know what kind yet

Thursday: Leftovers

Friday: My 2 year old cousin’s birthday party

Saturday: Wedding

What’s on your menu this week?

God. This made my morning. Especially the little tag that says, “My cat is better than your cat”. 😀

Love seeing Caty on a leash and harness. Think you should take her outside more often 😉 Does she like birds? Squirrels? (My cats get wide-eyed, open their mouth and make a clicking noise when they spot a tasty treat outdoors).

Our apartment is always dirty too. Two people, two cats. But still. I think we need to change our lazy ways!

I went back through my categories and changed some to make them more humorous.

Caty and I have been spending about 30 minutes a day outside. Me for the vitamin d, her so she won’t tear up the blinds trying to get out the door. But once I let her out, she’s terrified or takes off running; she has no middle ground.

I’ve been eating this (http://pinterest.com/pin/68187381828207365/) all weekend, and it’s so delicious! I’m actually waiting for my tortilla to finish crisping right now so I can have some more leftovers. 🙂

P.S. — I love Caty’s expression in that harness picture! Haha she’ll grow to love it, I’ms ure.
