in desserts, recipes, watch me bake

I’m sharing this recipe again today (August 24) because it’s a nice way to wrap up the end of fruit season.  I’ve linked up to Tasty Tuesday.

Yes, blueberries again. They are in season, okay? Plus, they are super tasty in this very easy cobbler. This recipe is adapted from a very old cookbook of my mother’s that is literally falling apart. Easy Fruit Cobbler is just that, easy. Super easy. You can mix this up and bake while eating dinner and cleaning up. And when you’re ready for summer dessert, pull out the ice cream and enjoy and big scoop on top of nice, warm cobbler. Nothing says summer like cobbler. Enjoy!

Easy Fruit Cobbler – 6 servings

¾ stick of butter

1 cup sugar

1 cup milk

1 cup self rising flour

2 cups fresh blueberries (or 4-5 medium peaches, peeled and sliced)

Preheat the oven to 350°. Spray an 8×8 pan with cooking spray, put the butter in it and put the pan in the oven for the butter to melt.

Meanwhile, mix the sugar, milk, and flour together in a medium bowl. When butter is melted remove hot pan from the oven and pour batter over the top. Do not stir! Top with blueberries (or peaches). Bake for 1 hour. Best served warm with ice cream.
