This may be the most requested recipe I’ve ever made. I started making these delightful little sliders last year during football season for my dad and after his reaction (eating almost all of them), I decided to take them on the road. I brought them to parties, other football-related events, and to several holiday parties. Gone, devoured, plates licked clean every time.
These are delicious. I highly recommend you make them for your next party or gathering.

1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls (can substitute slider rolls if you can’t find these)
Mayonnaise
6 slices of deli ham, each slice cut in half
3 slices Swiss cheese, each slice cut in fourths
Sauce:
4 tablespoons butter, melted
1/2 garlic clove, grated OR heaping 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
scant 1 tablespoon honey or dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Poppy seeds
Preheat oven to 350°.
Cut rolls in half and spread each half with mayonnaise. Fold ham to fit and place it on one side of the roll. Top with cheese fourth and then replace the top part of the roll to make a sandwich. Place sandwiches on a baking sheet.
Whisk the butter, garlic, mustard, and Worcestershire in a small bowl until well mixed. Pour (or brush) the sauce evenly over all the sandwiches. There will be a lot of sauce and it will run down the sides of the sandwiches.
Sprinkle the tops of the sandwiches with poppy seeds. Cover the sandwiches with aluminum foil. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese begins to melt. Remove the foil and bake for another 2-3 minutes to brown the tops of the rolls.

maybe you could just move up here and cook for me? then we could talk all the time and i wouldn’t have to eat grilled cheese for dinner two nights in a row. 😉 i’ll even put in bunk beds for old times sake if you want! 😉
Oh the bunk beds…
Oh my these look good! I love hawaiian bread. Definitely a keeper!
They are really good. And quick and easy. The Hawaiian bread really helps make this one a winner!
THESE ARE AWESOME. I have a love/hate relationship with how many of these I eat in one sitting. A part of me tells me to stop eating the carbs, the other part tells me to keep feeding on this deliciousness. That makes you a good/evil friend for introducing me to these 🙂 YUM!
Ok. So ridiculously simple and yet I’m DYING to try them. And I have a soft spot for these Hawaiian bread rolls. Do you think you could replicate them with a homemade dough??
No idea. I don’t actually know what’s in those rolls.
Never mind…just found this recipe: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/hawaiian-bread-ii/detail.aspx
They look right in the picture, so I would assume you could replicate the rolls at home and then make the sandwiches. Let me know how it turns out if you make them!
