As ruthless as I am with purging and cleaning out my closet, office, and other areas where clutter accumulates, I suck at keeping my refrigerator and pantry decluttered and free of old food. I coupon occasionally and hate to pass up a good deal, so I usually end up with something like 6 boxes of pasta, 15 pounds of flour, 4 or 5 bags of frozen veggies…you get the picture. I’m kind of a food hoarder. (I also hoard toothpaste but that’s a different story entirely.)
Thus, I’ve been eating from my pantry and freezer the last few weeks and am continuing this week. I need to start making room for holiday leftovers and my baking supplies I buy in bulk for the holidays. So far, I haven’t had to get creative with my meal planning, but we’ll see if I’m singing that tune next week.
So what’s on the menu? Let me share that with you.
Sunday – Parmesan tilapia, basil butter garlic bread (using up the last of the tilapia fillets and some of my endless supply of basil)
Monday – Boxed mac and cheese with frozen peas, turkey panini (using up the Annie’s mac and cheese that has been in there longer than I care to admit, frozen veggies, and deli turkey)
Tuesday – Bible study where dinner is provided
Wednesday – Cheesy broccoli quinoa casserole (using up frozen broccoli, frozen cooked chicken, cheese, and quinoa)
Thursday – Leftovers
Friday – Pizza topped with whatever I can find (using up pizza dough and random odds and ends)
Saturday – TBD
Are you cleaning out your pantry and freezer in preparation of the holidays? I’ve got to make room for the 15 pounds of sugar I bought at Sam’s this weekend somewhere. 🙂
Let’s play spot the cat!

If you coupon, it’s not hoarding, it’s stockpiling, and it is *very* important!! What if there is a zombie apocalypse? Toothpaste and sugar might become the new currency!!
True story. Or at least I’ll have a way to prevent cavities after eating all that sugar. 😉
