This Is Why I Can’t Have Nice Things

in Adventures, my cat is better than your cat

Because my cat is a sadistic little monster who destroys toilet paper while I’m busy playing online.

Bored cat + unsuspecting toilet paper = epic failure in kitty parenting

I’m totally going to be that mom who lets her child fall down the stairs, aren’t I?

We just keep all the bathroom doors in the house closed at all times. It solves the problem.

Been there, done that. Caty seems to think that any door that is closed is offensive and paws and cries at it until it gets opened again. Her favorite time to do this is around 4:45 am.

Did you recieve any helpful hints from your post the other day? Does Cesar Millan do cats too or just dogs? Maybe you need a cat whisperer? Sorry, not trying to be sarcastic, but there’s got to be a way to curb this behavior so she doesn’t drive you completely insane.

Perhaps a toilet paper cozy is on order?

I have to agree with the person who commented before about putting cayenne pepper or something hot to keep her off the stairs. Wee Watson used to chew cords until I started rubbing them with tabasco sauce, and what worked best was a bit of negative reinforcement therapy where I showed him what he wanted, and then gave him a taste of the tabasco. Perhaps if you have a rigged roll of toilet paper with something Caty hates on it, she’ll learn toilet paper= evil.

Oh my goodness… I am always saying “this is why we can’t have nice things” after my girls, Stella and Magic, destroy something else. Uggghhh – liz
