Weekly Wanderings #41

in blogs, links ahoy, weekly wanderings

Cupcakegate – I’m sure most of you have read about this, but it’s just too funny not to share.  Apparently a cupcake-in-a-jar was confiscated at TSA checkpoint recently for having a “gel-like substance”.  Because we all know if you are going to blow up a plane, the best place to hide part of your bomb is in a dessert.

10 Tips to Help You Find the Right Doctor – Not everyone is comfortable with their doctor, but they may not know how to change or ask for better care.  As someone who works in health care, I know it is crucial to have a good relationship with your doctor, so you can trust him to provide the right diagnosis and give you appropriate medications.  You should be an advocate for your own health!

Diet Plans That WorkUS News and World Report has released their annual list of the best diet plans.  Two diets created by the National Institute of Health rank very high, as does Weight Watchers.

Dining at Downton – Are you as obsessed with Downton Abbey as I am?  Apparently Bon Appetit is as well and is starting a new (humorous) series that looks at the food being served on the show.

And now for some yummy recipe ideas…

Rocky Ledge Bars

Tomato-Basil Parmesan Soup

Mini King Cakes

Wild Rice and Mushroom Pilaf

I’m really excited about the pilaf. I think I’m going to make it next week. If it’s good, except my version to be posted soon!
